Ages 4-12
Waconia Community Education & Recreation are partnering with Safari Island for the 3rd Waconia Kids Triathlon! The perfect for kids looking for a way to “TRI” the sport of triathlon or tune up their skills for a larger race. The race will offer kids a safe and fun environment for racing.

To encourage participation and enjoyment for all, the Waconia Kids Triathlon is a non-timed event. However, we do have awesome finisher medals that look just like the medals they’ve seen parents collect over the years! We encourage every child to do their best and practice racing in a supportive environment. We encourage parents to manually time their child if they are interested in a time for their race.

There will be no race day registration. Please register by July 14th to be guaranteed a t-shirt and medal.

Friday morning August 1, 2025 $35 (includes T-shirt, Medal & snacks)
7:30 am: Packet pickup, transition area opens at Safari Island
8:50 am: Pre-race meeting outside pool area

S-719 9:00 am - First Swim wave: 10-12 years
S-720 9:15 am - Second swim wave: 7-9 years
S-721 9:30 am - Third swim wave: 4-6 years

After swimming, racers continue to bike and then run portions of race
10:15 am - Post-race snacks
10:30 am - Approximate conclusion of Waconia Kids Triathlon

Swim 25 Yards (1 length of the pool)
Bike 1/2 Mile
Run 1/4 Mile

Ages 7-9
Swim 50 Yards (2 lengths of the pool)
Bike 1 Mile
Run 1/2 Mile

Ages 10-12
Swim 75 Yards (3 lengths of the pool)
Bike 1.5 Miles
Run 1 Mile
