Description:
COR Robotics COR Robotics has worked with dozens of FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) teams to run hundreds of STEM camps in the Upper Midwest. COR Robotics started in the summer of 2016 when founder Ryan Swanson partnered with four MN school districts to run seven STEM camps. In 2017, COR grew to 11 locations and 15 camps. COR Robotics partners with Sabre Robotics (FRC Team #6045) out of Sartell, Minnesota to grow the impact of its summer camps across the region. SubZero Robotics out of Esko, MN (FRC Team #5690) has generously enabled COR to run robotics camps by loaning their Lego Mindstorm kits for COR to use during the summer months. COR Robotics has expanded operations dramatically and now runs 200 camps in 50 locations each summer. More than 5,000 students have participated in COR camps with that number growing each year!
Battle Drones Camp
Grades 3rd-7th
Battle Drones features an exciting combination of aerial acrobatics with an engineering design challenge that will teach students STEM concepts, teamwork, and how to skillfully fly a drone. In Battle Drones, teams of students will build robotic launchers designed to fling projectiles at their opponents’ drones. Students will be guided by experienced camp instructors in how to construct their launchers to maximize projectile speed and accuracy. The camp will culminate in an epic battle where students will need to pilot their drones to safety by dodging opponent projectiles while using their own launchers to take down opponent drones. The best drone pilots and launchers will emerge victorious!
